SOLE F80

The F80 treadmill has been reviewed as “the best treadmill in its price range” by both consumers and numerous consumer resources.

The F80 treadmill offers an industry-leading lifetime warranty and the Cushion Flex Whisper Deck, reducing impact up to 40%, as compared to running on asphalt. The strong, 3.5 HP motor delivers challenging speeds up to 12 mph and inclines up to 15 levels. When not in use, the treadmill deck locks into place and is 100% secured.

SOLE’s folding treadmill frame design for the F80 originated from the demand of hotels for a treadmill as mobile as a room service cart, yet still stable and powerful. Run up to six preset programs, two customizable workout programs and two heart rate programs. Other safety features include:

  • A large stop switch with tether cord
  • Starting speed of 0.5 mph
  • A low-profile running hood that doesn’t get in the way of your running gait.
  • A step-up height consistent with commercial grade treadmills

The F80 features cooling fans, as well as speed and incline controls on the arm rests. The treadmill console is user-friendly. The display information includes Speed, Incline, Time, Distance Traveled, Calories, Pulse and Pace. There is a 1/4 mile track feature and a Peak and Valley graph for different programs. The console has built-in speakers that allow you to play music from your media device.

The F80 now includes an integrated tablet holder so you can use your smart devices to watch shows or follow workout routines. Also included is a USB port for charging and Bluetooth Audio Speakers so you can listen to music.

    (1) The treadmill was delivered on time and installed properly. (2) Love the quality and reliability to date (4 months). (3) Love the large screen with the important items – time lapsed, incline, speed – clearly laid out. (4) The electric drive motor is silent and has not given any problem

I didn’t want to have a wobbly treadmill or have it be so narrow that I would step off the sides and I wanted a strong motor for my son who is much bigger than I am. And this treadmill meets all those requirements. I use it nearly every day mostly for walking but some running too. I mostly use the manual setting because I can’t figure out how to save my changes to one of the default programs but that’s ok because I don’t want to do the same thing every day. You have to clean it regularly including under the running belt (it would be good if there were a special duster designed to fit under here) and you have to take the cover of the motor off monthly to dust it off and it does get dusty (here it would be easier if the cover just snapped off instead of having to unscrew it every time) and sometime in the future I’ll have to lubricate under the running belt too. For the cost, I’m determined to take care of it though and I think it will last for a long time.

I did not expect to receive such a high-quality unit that was priced so fairly. This is even nicer than most of the treadmills I have used in gyms and hotels before. Thank you, Sole. Very Very impressed with your product.

  4. Evelyn

No complaints, just wish it had a better screen. The app is kinda useless too.

  5. Noah

I’ve been using my F80 for a few months now & love the belt length, workout programs and other features offered with this model.

I purchased the unit with delivery to the room it was to be used. It was a replacement for the same model which failed on its 15th birthday. I had one problem putting it together. I was unable after hours of trying to affix the upper arm guards. That is an incredibly poor design in my view. Needing to get a small screw into the top of a small post which is totally not visable, I found impossible. I resorted to tape which is a shame for what is otherwise a fine machine. –Larry Shuppert

We had a somewhat difficult time putting the treadmill together. I like everything about the treadmill except the heart monitor. It is not accurate at all and at first, I thought I was in terrible shape because my heart rate would go sky high the minute I started to work-out. But, I am a Nurse Practitioner and have my own pulse oximeter which is extremely accurate. That’s when I figured out the problem. They do send you an alternative strap to wrap around your chest with a wand that will check your pulse rate, but that is inconvenient.

We have enjoyed our Sole F80 Treadmill. It has good cushioning. My husband runs on it three or four times a week, and he has not had any problems with it. We do not use any of the programs, so I cannot comment on those.

  9. Christian

The Sole treadmill is exactly what was advertised and works great. The speakers are amazing. I have no excuse now to run regardless of the weather.

  10. Andrea

Arrived quickly and was not difficult to assemble. Seems to be well made and meets all our needs for equipment that supports a good indoor run.

  11. Keith

Ours was purchased on a scratch & dent sale. So far, it has worked great and I have no complaints.

Received F80 for Christmas! Assembly went well and daughter walked multiple miles the same day. Woke early for my 3.5 mile initial run the following day and treadmill did not work; key not acknowledged. Took more than a day to reach support to determine defective part. After over a week without receiving part a return call to support determined part was never shipped. A week later I received part and schedule repair another week later. Since repair the treadmill works well although the information screen deserves only a single star. In short, customer service one half star and info screen a single star. So far, I’ll the treadmill overall rate is 3 stars.

Out of the box we had parts that weren’t manufactured correctly which made assembly difficult. The belt of the treadmill was marred (looked like it had an abrasion). Customer service ordered the two new parts and we are awaiting Installation. Have used it for 90 min a day for a week now. On last day Console froze and treadmill had to be powered off /on the have it working again. Then the next time it was used (same day) we got an E4 message. Called the customer service line and waited 15 min to be transferred to their service team. Waited on that line for an hour before I reached a rep that had me remove the motor cover to look at the wired and asked me to unplug a few I could not get undone. Told me to ask the service tech when they come. They are trying to make things right. Ordering parts, sending service tech, small refund. All steps in the right direction. However, I cannot help but feel soured on the company and the product. New items should be able to be assembled properly right out of the box, computer systems should not glitch and show error one week into use, and getting a representative to help should not take up hours of time. I have been on the phone with the company at least 6 times. Wait times were over 45 min each call. They have a great warranty so to speak. Let’s see if it holds up. Right now I am sitting on $1600 worth of repairs and glitches.

Setting the treadmill is fairly easy, yet there are 4 screws that are inserted somewhat blindly into long holes and getting the screwdriver to match the screws when you can’t see them (you have to be on your back with a light attached to your forehead to see them) is not easy. Else the setup was easy. I like how easy it is to lift the running track and lower it back. Running on the machine is louder than I thought. The machine, itself, is quiet, but running on it isn’t. And I am a light experienced runner. The tablet attachment ****. Sorry Sole. It ****. It is a rachety mechanism rather than using springs and my tablet fell out during my first run, after 10-15 minutes while I had lowered the hold as tight as I could. Every time the power is turned off, the default screen turns on, which displays a variety of options but the treadmill will not start. You have to press three buttons for 5 seconds, then press two more to turn off the default display. So don’t turn the power off at the switch, yet any power outage will get the machine in the default display mode, so save the instructions… I am disappointed with the inability of the machine to save the details of a run via Bluetooth. All you get is the run summary with the ability to send a picture of the display but no details via TCX format or whatever. So that is a bummer. When a read a review of the treadmill, that review did not specify that lack of expected technology sold in today’s machines…

It was good / great – 1. Email to customer service to inquire about ship date – reply was courteous and within a reasonable amount of time. 2. Notice of shipment coming was nice – thanks. 3. Shipping company was great – customer service / driver / delivery – wow! 4. Item packed well – no damage. 5. Instruction were easy / detailed. Also watched a you-tube video. 6. Assembly wasn’t too bad – screws to attach upper covers under console / were just not nice (4 screws) – said a few / several bad words during install – please re-design some way. 7. Monitor / console is nice. 8. Wheels ok 9. Hydraulic lift works well – up and down slow. 10. Belt speed is nice / acceleration – incline is nice. 11. Overall I am very satisfied with the product – thank you.

Our Sole F80 ordered Jan 2, 2022 performs well, with one exception. For the most part, it’s easy to use, and has some storage for my phone & water bottle. The display offers plenty of info and feedback to monitor my workout. I selected the F80 mainly because of its high ratings AND that it is considered a QUIET treadmill. Problem is, at the speed of 2.5 to 2.6 mph, an annoying whahm-whahmm-whahm pulsing noise becomes evident. Then, as I increase speed to 2.7 mph, the noise quits! The noise isn’t evident when the F80 is running with no one on it, and at 140 lbs I’m not highly overweight to put stress on it! I contacted the company March 27, 2022 & sent them a video with sound, but the rep said he couldn’t hear anything unusual. Insisting they treat my problem seriously, they replied they weren’t sure what the noise is. Perhaps to pacify me, they decided to mail a new drive belt, and would send a technician to install it under warranty. I was to receive a call from a technician in the area to schedule an appointment. The drive belt arrived, but no technician called. I emailed Sole again. My warranty request was updated & they re-submitted the order for a technician. That was May 20, 2022, and yet again, no call from a technician. After a dozen emails, at this point, July 19, 2022 I’ve sort of given up, which, in the end may be their warranty strategy. So, though the F80 would earn a 5-star rating other than the noise at 2.5-2.6 mph, their Warranty Support rates ZERO with me

One man delivers. He will not carry it very far. He left a huge pallet. He was very nice. I can’t lift it. I would like to be given advice from ANYONE and how to build this or who can build this for a fee

  18. Martha

I was going to the health club daily to get my 4 miles in on the treadmill. I was really concerned that any residential/home treadmill would never measure up to the ones at the club. Boy was I wrong. Not only did the Sole F80 meet my expectations, it exceeded them in every category. The quality and design is every bit as good as a club treadmill at a fraction of the cost (believe me, I priced them). Nothing beats getting out of bed and not having to leave the house to get a gym/health club quality workout. I would give it 10 stars if I had the option. If you are thinking about it, do it, you will not be disappointed

I LOVED IT! All the functions are great. I can’t wait to explore them more. So far we have used the manual and hill options and they are both great. The incline and speed change is gradual, so no sudden changes to cause issues. It is quiet when it’s in use even up to the highest speed we tested (7)! Absolutely adore this treadmill. I still don’t love the plastic cover pieces – they are HORRIBLE to put on, but ignoring those it is great. For the price, this product has all the functionality of a treadmill at a gym plus extra features that are great for home. The extra feature I enjoyed was that it folds and has a decent tablet holder. The fold release is easy and simple too – the yellow lever at the end unlocks the treadmill and allows it to go back down. Lifting it to fold it is a little heavy right at first, but then the easy assist kicks in and they aren’t lying about it being easy. When it’s released, it doesn’t drop because the “easy assist” slows it going back down. It really kicks in when it gets close to the ground and it won’t let you rush it! Light as a feather touchdown to the floor. I highly recommend this item! For lack of frustration, I also recommend assembly if it’s available

The little screws aren’t the easiest to get installed. You really need a magnetic screw driver to hold the screw in place while you are trying to get it into their respective spaces. Once I got my magnetic screw driver, it was a lot easier.

Excellent Machine. Directions to put together needs a bit of work. The instruction book crams a lot of pieces into small pictures. Maybe a short video link would have been better to be honest. Once we got everything in the right spot, it went together well. Been up and running for a couple of days and everyone loves it. There is a small squeak but I’m sure it will go away with use. 1 issue I would like to see them fix in shipping. The base unit is heavy and bulky. Although 2 of us were able to get it up the stairs and into the room, the Hydraulic Cylinder that controls the incline expanded on us and was a pain to carry and fit through doors. They had it Velcro strapped down “over the plastic” for shipping, but we did not want to try and carry with slippery plastic. Should have been strapped down under the plastic. We were not smart enough to know how to get the Cylinder to collapse until we got in the room… :(. Maybe save someone the trouble. Excellent machine for the money. Should be with us for years to come.

I’ve already gone for a few runs on the treadmill. Very impressed. Looks good with what appears to be quality materials and sturdy, heavy duty construction. Assembly was quick and easy. Operates exactly as you would expect and it’s very quiet, stable and smooth. I like the gradual speed up and slow down. Feels very intuitive. I read a lot of reviews and Sole had the best. And now that I own one, I’m another positive reviewer! Couldn’t be more delighted with my purchase.

I ordered a Sole F80 on December 12. It showed up about mid-January. The truck with a lift gate lowered the boxed unit onto my trailer. I pulled the trailer around to the backside of my house with my 4 Wheeler. The boxed unit was easy to move as I did it myself. It slid across the threshold of the sliding door with ease. I opened the box to make sure it was not damaged and then left it until Sunday night to put together. A couple of hours tops and I had it up and running. My spouse walked religiously for 20 years on her old folding treadmill. The F80 is SO quiet compared to the one it replaced. We are excited to have a new treadmill. Since we live in a cold climate…..-15 degrees this weekend…..a treadmill is very handy to have. We have a couple of weeks use on it so far and it works like a charm. Intuitive instructions, operating buttons, ect made this a great purchase.
